Emma Robinson is about to make the biggest mistake in her life by marrying her billionaire boss, St. John Wetherington-MacMichaels, but she is clueless when it comes to love now that her parents are no longer around to guide her. Fortunately for her, fate steps in and takes charge.

Instead of falling over the parapet at Bamburgh Castle in the twenty-first century, she ends up landing on the beach of twelfth-century Bebbanburg Castle and falling in love with the stronghold's darkly handsome Governor, Laird Fergus Leofric Reid, mighty warlord, loyal to King Henry II.

He believes Emma to be the betrothed bride he has pledged the King to marry - Mildred Aemilia, Maid of Kent.

But romance gets in the way of Emma telling her husband the truth, and now it might be too late.

The Maid of Kent is on her way to Bebbanburg, determined to marry the gorgeous groom the King promised her! And that is not all. Emma has placed her trust in St. John Wetherington-MacMichaels distant ancestor, Michael of Bonnington. Can he be relied on? Or will he prove to be as dishonest and two-faced as his modern-day descendant?

Falling in love at Bamburgh Castle is not all smooth sailing because Emma feels the effects of her pregnancy as all her lies come home to roost!

Please enjoy Part 2 of the series --- and join us for a very Merry Medieval Christmas!

4.0 out of 5 stars Time travel romance

A time travel romance that is a deep technical dive into the 12th century. A mistaken identity adds tension to an unexpected love story. The detailed description of pregnancy and childbirth adds seriousness to the romance with sex scenes. This book is part of a series and I’d advise reading them in order for better understanding of the people and the setting.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

1.0 out of 5 stars I misunderstood

This is a new to me author and the first of her books that I've attempted to read. I evidently misunderstood and thought that these were sweet and clean stories. Sadly, at chapter six, there is an explicit sex scene, and I stopped reading. Up to that point, there was innuendo, but no details. This is a time travel story and one of my favorite tropes. The first five chapters were well-written and kept my interest. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to finish the book. Without the sex scenes I'm sure it would be a fun read. My apologies to the author for the misunderstanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Medieval love story continues 🎄💞

Emma is still stuck in the twelfth century Bamburgh Castle, called Bebbanburg by the locals. Her fake identity is about to be revealed. She tries to tell her husband the truth but it’s impossible to describe the twenty-first century life to him.Her pregnancy makes her feel tired all the time too. The Maid of Kent is mean and wants Emma gone. Very exciting end when the king arrives. I enjoyed this book.
