My Highland Chieftain's Heart Paperback
Raghnall Reid is fiery and fierce, with roguish good looks and skillful swordplay to back it up. His destiny seems clear....until he meets a beautiful silver-haired traveler on the Highland road.
Two timelines collide in this romantic medieval romp! Raghnall Reid is on a mission to establish himself as a laird in his own right. His need for gold takes him to places he has no right to be - waylaying strangers along the road and relieving them of their purses!
But when he crosses paths with feisty Sassenach maiden Lady Gisela de Bonnington of Bebbanburg Castle, Raghnall might have met his match. There is only one problem - Gisela is on her way to visit Raghnall's mither.
Angry landowners have invaded Bebbanburg, and Gisela has nowhere else to go. 'Tis most inconvenient, but for some reason, Gisela finds herself drawn to those misty Highland mountains...
Gisela forgives the brutish Highland highwayman when he agrees to show her the way to Lady Emma Reid's fortress castle high amidst the dreich-soaked crags—but delivering this fascinating young maiden into the safety of his mither's domain is the last thing on Raghnall's mind.
Why is Gisela so determined to meet Lady Emma? Could it be the maiden grew up hearing stories about how Emma Reid seemed to drop right out of the sky one day? The only explanation for that has to be because Emma comes from the Land of the Fairies!
Prepare for rollicking medieval mayhem and romance as the Highlands and Bamburgh Castle connect for one last adventure! Please enjoy this Scottish Highlander Time Travel Romance.

This is the first book of the series, "Love at Bamburgh Castle," book 3, "My Highland Chieftain's Heart," that I am reviewing. Raghnall and Gisela's romance gets off to a difficult and tension filled start. These two butt heads at every turn, this is their love language. I had a hard time with this book because of the way it was written with scottish wording and the fact that I haven't read the other books. The story once you get into is good, with characters from previous books making a appearance. I only gave a 3* rating because I couldn't feel a connection with the characters. Others who have read the books from the series will enjoy this book.TG.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Found that, since I had not read other books in the series, I felt something was missing. Yes, the book was enjoyable, the characters interesting, the writing and Scottish flavor new and different. I guess maybe I need to catch up with other books from the series to get the whole effect…then re-read this book.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Then he meets Lady Gisela de Bonnington of Bebbanburg Castle. She is fleeing upheaval at the castle - sent off to the Highlands to seek safety with Laird Fergus and Lady Emma Reid.Their meeting seems fated and magical. Gisela was raised by her Great Aunt Bessie. Her father Michael de Bonningtton, Governor of Bebbonburgh has arranged her marriage with the son of Edgar Le Tourine--Vincent. At the engagement feast, the northern knights did not want to be ruled by lesser men. Gisela was directed to go to Edinburgh, to Lord and Lady Reid's castle. She meets trouble on the way. She is almost robbed by Raghnall. He takes her to his home at the waterfall. He feels an attraction for her. Raghnall sends her to his parents' home. He warns her not to tell his parents, that he is stealing gold from travelers. He needs to build an army. Lady Reid speaks to Gisela in private, and divulges some of her secrets. Will her father be rescued? Who will Gisela marry? I enjoyed reading this book! The story line flowed well. The characters were likeable.
