The Gaslamp Murders - 47 Cromwell Road EBook
For too long, the house stood empty. While other properties glistened and gleamed, the malevolent number 47 waited in gloomy silence. Then it changed. A loving couple and their maid moved in, and the warmth of their presence glowed in the gray, rainy streets of London.
But their happiness doesn’t last. A maid stands and stares in confusion and horror as she watches a young wife surrender her grip on reality while her husband succumbs to his own depravity: an illicit romance, furtive secrets, and murder. Soon, 47 Cromwell Road’s inner darkness reaches out and snares unsuspecting souls in its trap. It is a descent into hell.

Great read, well-written, good build up of suspense. Recommend.
This takes place in London late 1800's after Jack the Ripper had stopped his murders. A new killed emerges that places a gas lamp at the head of the victim. We focus on the newlyweds, Thomas and Evie, their little maid Gladys, and the home that they are the first to live in. Right off you know that something is off, but you can't place how or why.For the sake of spoilers, I cannot say too much about the story. But the writing was well done. I loved little Gladys and her Mistress Evie, and then I really disliked Thomas. As it was with men of the time, women were a second thought and only their for their pleasure. This author captured that completely. It was well done and the twist at the end was Brilliant!!
I was drawn in by the cover; that dark, eerie, silent design gave me chills. This left me expecting a great horror/mystery.Well it definately did not disappoint. The beginning while not always easy to follow, reminded me partially of the handmaidens tale. The overbearing male personna with the female being tossed to the side. The story picked up abojt half way through turning into almost a Jack the Ripper vibe. There are gory parts during the second half so use caution if gore is not your thing.I really enjoyed the overall story and I can’t wait to read more of his books.Thank you to booksirens and Kyle Matthews for providing me a readers copy.

Emotionally unsettling. The characters were well developed and the storyline easy to follow. The storyline was well developed as well! An unexpected ending!
